JJM Finance guarantee to protecting your privacy. We comply with the Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles which regulate the way personal information is collected, used, disclosed and provided to third parties. We respect the privacy of customers and act to protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act and National Privacy Principles. We only collect personal information which is necessary for us to perform our operations in origination and administration of loans, leases and related activities. We collect and hold personal information on individual customers, guarantors and third parties. The information collected will depend on the customer’s dealings with us and the circumstances under which it was collected. For any reason if you do not wish to provide us with certain personal information which is necessary for us to perform our functions, we may be unable to accept your application for credit and process or provide necessary services to you.
Access to your Personal Information
You can gain access to your personal information that we hold about you. We will handle requests for access to your personal information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles and requests for access to your personal information should be directed to the Privacy Officer who may be contacted by telephoning (02) 9873 1749. We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of any personal information collected and we hold.
Collecting Personal Information about You
Personal information is collected from you when you apply for credit or apply to guarantee credit and when you otherwise provide information to us. The information will include your name, address and contact details, identification information relevant to applications. Wherever possible we collect information directly from you. However, in certain cases we may collect personal information from third parties. We may collect financial information about you in relation to financial position and details of your salary or wages, and information from credit reporting agency or a representative or an agent like an accountant, solicitor or financial advisor or from publicly available information. We make sure that this information, wherever possible is collected with your authorization or where this is not possible we will inform you when such information is collected.
Generally we do not collect sensitive personal information. However, occasionally we may collect information relating to your Professional Membership, issues relating to your health etc. The information collected from you will be used only for the purposes for which it is collected.
Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Information
The purpose for which the personal information collected is used and disclosed may include: • Mortgage insurers • Underwriters • Professional advisers like accountants, solicitors, financial advisers, valuers etc • Govt. agencies such as those who administer land titles and revenues • Credit reporting agencies and mercantile agents • Other organizations which participate in funding, providing and administering your loan or the loan you have guaranteed, such as the trustee of the fund from which the loan is sourced • Our own market analysis and product development
Security of Information
Information is recorded in both paper and electronic format. We take extra steps for the protection of all personal information provided to us and necessary care to protect it from misuse, loss, modification or unauthorized access or disclosure.
